An afternoon trip to Elafonisi, about a 1:45 drive from Chania. We waded through the knee-high water out to the island just off the main beach (clutching the DSLR for dear life, afraid that I may trip and drop it in the water).
The island is a protected nature preserve, and there is all kinds of interesting plant life.
The water here is an amazing shade of aqua.
