Today, we explored the area near Collyer House. We started with a two-hour jet boat ride on the Waiatoto River (an educational sort of thing). Then we took a nice hike to Lake Ellery, where we saw almost no one. After lunch at the famous Craypot (I would fly all the way back for the fish and chips and chili squid), we explored several beaches and enjoyed our quiet little area of the South Island.
