The highlight of our time at Saqqara was the 4400 year-old tomb of Wahti, just discovered in 2018. It is the subject of the Netflix documentary, “Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb.” Wahti was a high-ranking priest and official who served under King Neferirkare Kakai during the Fifth Dynasty of Egypt.
The royal cemetery at Saqqara is an ongoing excavation site.
